Available Courses

  • Study AbroadThis course introduces the language of study abroad, a favorite IELTS question, and looks at the issues of studying overseas, focusing on the cost, homesickness, and cultural shock of living in another country as well as the advantages of learning a new language. This unit also introduces language to talk about education, trend language for writing Task 1 line graphs and writing structure for Task 2. In addition there is a tutorial on Transitional Devices (connecting. linking and signpost words). Finally a tutorial on the IELTS reading and listening test.
  • EmploymentIn this unit we study the world of work and employment, with focused listening about migration of workers between countries, and exploitation of working in developing countries, test reading on employment issues introduce double line charts in Task 1, and teach how to express an opinion and cause and effect language for Task 2 writing. There is also a separate writing workshop before finally a practice IELTS exam.
  • HealthIn this module we look at issues of health for the IELTS exam, introduce new vocabulary for writing and speaking about health, practice focused listening on Australian health issues, discover how to use the language of comparison for bar charts and look at grammar (subject verb agreement and articles).
  • CrimeIn this module we look at issues of crime, capital punishment, prison and rehabilitation, and social problems. In addition writing Task 1 bar pie charts and sentence structure in ask 1, Writing Task 2 cause and effect linkers. This module contains a variety of legal language that is persuasive and useful in all writing tasks.
  • The MediaThis module looks at the influence of the media on society, consumerism, product placement in television and film, subliminal advertising, the relationship of violence and television. Further, we look at writing Task 1 tables, how to group data, and writing Task 2 problem solution markers.
  • Culture and SocietyIn this module we examine IELTS vocabulary for Culture and Society, exactly what is culture, the impact of western consumerism and tourism on local culture, describing objects for writing Task 1 and how something works, and examine writing Task 2 questions.
  • TechnologyThis module looks at issues of science and technology for the IELTS exam, the impact of the internet, nuclear power, sustainable energy sources, and how machines work for Task 1 writing. Furthermore, we examine issues of technology for Writing task 1 and 2.
  • EnvironmentThis module looks at issues of the environment and sustainability for the IELTS exam, global warming and rising oceans, alternative energy sources, congestion in cities, and global emissions trading. There are lessons on writing Task 1 processes, and more on writing Task 2 cause and effect.
  • TourismThis module looks at Tourism and the Travel industry, investigating the effects on global tourism on the environment and local culture. We continue the study of processes for writing Task 1 and how to write a discussion essay for Writing Task 2.
  • GlobalizationThis module analyzes the issues of Globalization for the IELTS exam. The effects of globalization of national employment, exploitation of workers by multinationals in developing countries, the global financial system and global organizations, such as the United Nations.
  • IntelligenceThis module looks at Intelligence and the Human Condition, the theory of multiple intelligences and learning style, issues of education, relationships, personality, and consumerism and happiness. Task 1 writing focuses on comparing two images, such as maps, and making comparisons. In writing Task 2 we look at questions of intelligence.
  • LeisureThis module looks at Leisure and Recreation questions in the IELTS exam, the effect of the leisure industry and health in society, recreation in developed countries, a review of writing Task 1 and writing Task 2 in modules 1 to 12.
